Rodney "Rick" Hoving Jr.

Rick Hoving Jr., of Dawson and Kennedy, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Kittson County Hospital in Hallock, MN at the age of 67.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Rodney Richard Hoving Jr. was born on December 3, 1955 in Ukiah, CA to Rodney Sr. And Opal (Logan) Hoving.  The family moved to Minnesota and Rick attended school in Coon Rapids.  He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Blaine.  Rick was united into marriage with Teri Bownik on May 14, 1977 at Peace Lutheran Church. They moved to Dawson in 1990. Rodney worked at AGP in Dawson from 1991 to 1996 and then again from 2002 to 2011.  In between, he worked with his father at Mariken Electrical. Rick started working in 2011 for CHS in Hallock as an Environmental Safety and Health Coordinator.  Rodney served in the US Air Force.  Rick and Teri lived in Dawson and Kennedy Minnesota.  Rick enjoyed woodworking, remodeling, Nascar,  guitars and music of any kind.  He would buy houses and remodel them for others to enjoy. Rick also loved going to auctions.

He is survived by his wife, Teri; mother, Opal Hoving; siblings: Patricia Leaf, Robert Hoving, Paula Nelson; 13 nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Hoving Sr.
