Lucille Williams

Lucille Williams died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 100.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Providence Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery,.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the service.

Lucille Eleanor Williams was born on October 3, 1921, in Annestaa, Sweden to Edwin and Jennie (Allen) Larson.
At the age of 4, she moved with her parents to the United States where they settled on a farm southwest of Dawson. Lucille attended country school and went to High School in Dawson.  She was a graduate of Dawson High School. Upon her father's death her family moved to Evanston, Illinois in the Chicago area. After a time in Evansville, Lucille and her sister Verna moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Lucille worked for Mutual of Omaha for 16 years. Lucille then moved to Kansas City, Kansas and worked for a supply company for 16 years. She retired at the age of 62.

Lucille loved to travel and traveled to many different countries. She would frequent the casino and loved to shop. She would have ladies over to play bridge and loved to entertain. Lucille came to Dawson a few times a year to visit her brother and other family. She would always come on Memorial Day weekend to put flowers on her family plot at Providence Valley Cemetery, which was very important to her.

On September 16, 2016 Lucille moved to the Dawson Care Center. She came just in time to be part of the ground breaking for the new Care Center. Lucille resided there until her death on August 18, 2022 at the age of 100 and 10 months.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Jennie, brother Lloyd, and sister Verna.
