Douglas Hutt Obituary

Douglas Hutt of Boyd died on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud  the age of 63.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd with Pastor Bob Knutson officiating. 

Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo, MN. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour before the service on Friday at the church.

Douglas Alan Hutt was born October 19, 1959, to Donald and Helen (Grinager) Hutt at Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, MN. He was baptized on April 10, 1960, attended Sunday School from 1st through 12th grade, was confirmed on May 18, 1974, and participated in Luther League at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd.  Doug attended grade school in Boyd and graduated in 1978 from Dawson-Boyd High School. He participated in wrestling during junior and senior high school. Doug enjoyed riding his horse, Prince. He played catcher on the Boyd softball league, raced go carts in Boyd, and enjoyed being in a bowling league.

Following graduation, he worked for AGP in Dawson. He drove bulk truck for Hutt Oil Company of Boyd and then drove semi, hauling petroleum products for Hutt Oil Company, Kane Transport, Stormy Transport and Jensen Transport before buying his own semi-truck. 

Doug enjoyed watching wrestling, car races, lawn mower pulls, car shows and all the events that Joseph, Katie and Mason were in. His special love was for his German Shepherds Sarge, Vic, and Maggie.

He is survived by his mother Helen, brother David, sister-in-law Mavis, niece Katie (Matthew) Boettger, nephews Joseph (Kirsten) Hutt and Mason (Michelle) Hutt, grand-nephews Cohett Hutt, Keller Hutt, and Hayes Boettger, grand-nieces Karina Hutt and Ashlyn Hutt, aunts and uncles Alice Beattie, Diane Ruether, Ruby (Ed) Pacheco and Jerry Grinager, along with many cousins and extended family.

Preceding him in death are his sister, Lynn Janel; father, Donald; grandparents: Melvin and Petra Grinager and Joe and Bena Hutt; aunts and uncles: Helmer (Vivian) Grinager, Benny (Leone) Grinager, Mildred (Rueben) Larson, John Beattie, Palmer (Dona and Betty) Grinager, LuVerne (Joanne) Grinager, Verlan Grinager, Don Ruether, Melvin (Esther) Hutt and his baptismal sponsors Margie (Jerry) Sylvis; and cousins: Peter Grinager, Vernon Grinager, David Grinager, Perry Grinager, Jill Doty and Connie Sylvis-Taylor.
